So what is Dungeons and Hammers? What began as a dumb joke has turned into a passion project where I share my love of RPGs and tabletop games. Why is it the beefiest? Because I intend to tackle everything from art and minis to indy RPG design and community building. If that sounds cool to you then you're in the right place!
I've been an active gamer since the 90s and (after a hiatus) got back into DMing seriously in 2014 or 15ish. My passion for painting minis never died though. Recently I've been on a minimalist kick (see the Fallen Angels above) heavily inspired by Professor DM's How to Paint Hate in One Day video. If you like this kind of crafting, stay tuned!

I ran 2E D&D for years before transitioning to 5E after moving to a new city and connecting with some gamers that joined the RPG scene with the advent of Stranger Things. I loved the streamlined mechanics but missed some of the old school sensibilities, which got me into the indy and homebrew scene. This meant lots of homebrew and importing the best mechanics from games like Knave, ICRPG, Mork Borg, and Dread.
A few years later I discovered more online communities and took the plunge writing a couple modules for Game Jams (check them out on Itchi.io!). Since then I've gotten more active on Discord and in other virtual places which have been an endless wellspring of inspiration and community.
Finding a kindred spirit in the artist Daniel Harila Carlsen (ifnd him on BlueSky!) finally motivated me to take my homebrew system, Beefy Shotgun Wizards, from my basement to the masses. His art perfectly lined up with my vision for a gritty, tongue in cheek dungeon crawler that lets you play at meathead Wizards who run out of spellslots and have to draw their shotguns to make it through the dungeon. With a helping hand from fearless editor Walt at Liber Ludorum and we are close to releasing the QuickShot guide! I will be at GaryCon March 20th-23rd running 6 sessions of BSW and may have some copies of the QuickShot guide to hand out, if you're there come find me! If not, watch this space for the QuickShot release on Itch.io.
So what is Dungeons and Hammers? It's a forum for me to be weird, to share my love of RPG writing and craft, participate in some community building, and to allow those who are interested to follow along as I dive into the Indy publishing scene. Thank you for joining me on this journey!
